Education and Research Committee is responsible for CSCE’s education and research related issues and activities including:

  • To develop a close working relationship between Civil Engineering academic community and Canadian construction industry in understanding the research and training needs of the industry and their demand on university education;
  • To develop a strategy and/or a mechanism of facilitating the collaborations between Canadian universities and construction industry in establishing joint training programs and research projects to fulfill the needs of both communities;
  • To work closely with CSCE Civil Engineering Heads of Department Committee contributing to the improvement of Civil Engineering curriculum, course contents as well as strategic teaching and research directions based on the industry needs and requirements; and
  • To support community driven programs in the area of engineering education and research, such as parental group’s concern and interest in engineering education and research for their children, environmental group’s interest in promoting sustainable development, etc.”
